AZ - Arizona
As of year 2007, no single source of data existed in Arizona containing information about the life cycle of citations including information about the original arrest and all subsequent actions including the final disposition, i.e., a citation tracking system. However, as of 2009 state does have an electronic citation system (eCitations) that enables Arizona law enforcement agencies (and their contract agents) to capture standard citation data like a paper Arizona Traffic Ticket and Complaint (ATTC) electronically and transmit that data to the Courts via a connection with the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC). The program automatically creates a case and calendar entry in the applicable court’s case management system (CMS) database table. Citation data can be captured by handheld devices used by officers in the field, by mobile photo enforcement vehicles like radar vans, or by fixed photo enforcement devices like red light cameras.
