AL - Alabama
This version of the State EMS Forms was posted on this site on 08/31/2010, and revised by the state on 04/12/2010. Alabama began submitting to NEMSIS in September 2008. They are collecting 100% of the NEMSIS data set. 100% of their agencies are submitting 100% of their EMS runs. Alabama’s electronic, Patient Care Reporting (ePCR) software
is compliant with the National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS).
The software, designed by GRAYCO Systems, has been customized for
Alabama’s EMS Community for ease of use, maximum compatibility, and to conform
to Alabama’s Dataset. A Third Party Integration Module is available to any
Providers for Third-Party NEMSIS Compliant software venders to share their data
with the state system. If integration is not possible, a stand-alone submission
tool will be supplied and can upload any NEMSIS Compliant XML File to the state. The final quarter of 2008 was very busy and productive for the development and implementation phase of the Statewide Alabama Trauma System. During this period, with the assistance of the Alabama Hospital Association and The Medical Association of Alabama, we established Regional Trauma Advisory Councils (RTAC) for each EMS/Trauma region and held RTAC meetings in five of the six regions. Efforts will be made this year to get the entire Statewide Trauma System up and running. Right now, AERO and BREMSS are the only fully functional regions operating the Trauma Communication System.
