VA - Virginia
This version of the State EMS Forms was posted on this site on 12/2/2008, and revised by the state on 6/21/2006. The Office of EMS is in the process of planning a significant upgrade to the Prehospital Patient Care Reporting (PPCR) Program. The PPCR Program is Virginia’s patient documentation, data submission, data storage, data reporting tool, and the related laws and regulations. The term EMS Registry (EMSR) is the official name of the planning project to upgrade the program as it moves through the Commonwealth’s information technology (IT) approval process. The final name that will replace the term PPCR has yet to be determined. RFP for the project was released November 2008.
Goals for the Upgrade
The technical manual, posted 9/2007, provides a "mapping" of NHTSA’s version 2.2.1 data set to the current Virginia dataset that is based on NHTSA version 1. NHTSA Version 2.2.1 is commonly referred to as NEMSIS compliant. OEMS offers the following mapping in attempt to support the NEMSIS project, but OEMS and agencies remain required to collect EMS data in the current format until such a time, which is unknown at present, in the current technical format.
