Traffic Records Systems Inventory

The Traffic Records Systems Inventory is currently being moved as a part of the 408 Monitoring System at http://www.nhtsa-tsis.net/408.  The questions have been revised and some sections removed entirely.  It is preferable to not submit data through this website, as it does not collect data for the newest questions.  This website will be decommissioned as soon as the new Traffic Records Inventory questions are available in the 408 Monitoring System.  The link below represents the revised TRI questions.  "Draft" currently appears on the first page, but changes to the questions are unlikely.  A final version will be made available once they are available in the 408 Monitoring System.

The information on these pages is used by the NHTSA Traffic Records Team, to establish a contact database and basic information about the traffic records system within each state and will be updated on an annual basis.

There is a web form for submitting contact and basic system information for each of the Traffic Records components in your State.  The links at the side of this page will take you to the appropriate form.  Click on "Browse by System" to find information for all states on one system or "Browse by State" to search for all systems in a state.  Please note that you may not edit data if you "Browse" the systems.  You must go to the Submit Data page. 

In addition to the web form information, we are hoping to compile electronic copies (typically PDF files) of various forms, procedure manuals, and data dictionaries as references to the state and local traffic records activities.  Please send electronic versions of these forms and manuals or original printed documents as photocopies do not reproduce well for publications.  We will convert the electronic documents or printed masters to PDF for inclusion at the NHTSA web site.
